"We want to operate with Pull dominant kimuras not push dominant kimuras" - John Danaher
- The majority of the force is in one where we immobalize the arm and finish with a pull
- People tend to work perpendicualarly to their opponent (not good)
Position your hips at the shoulder line, then form the powerline which goes from the opponents opposite hip in a diagonal line towards the shoulder
- It's the elbow that breaks in a well applied kimura
- My head is over the hip, my hips are over the opposite shoulder
Pull dominant kimura: Immobilize the hand, head moves away, push with both legs and pull with the elbow
- Make sure legs are well separated
Always go elbow to elbow for leverage
The direction of force is revealed by the elbow - my elbow points the direction of force
- Most of the worst injuries come from Kimuras in competition
